Mark Vardy is a qualitative sociologist who is interested in the social processes through which climate change becomes meaningful for people. His postdoctoral appointment with the Climate Futures Initiative involved the use ethnographic methods to examine, with Michael Oppenheimer, how scientific experts make decisions about how to best represent the science of climate change to policymakers.
