Research

A one-liner describing my work for the general audience "I work on making Netflix get to your phone faster, better, stronger in tomorrow's wireless network." In more detail, I have focused on improving the speed and quantity of information moving and reducing delay for services in future wireless networks. The bulk of math tools I use are in information theory, optimization theory, and probability theory.

Going forward, I want to focus on engineering networks capable of providing services with computational requirements, particularly a mobile health system that provides navigational and situational awareness for people with low and impaired vision. This requires future wireless networks to have computational capabilities alongside reliable, fast, and secure connections. Furthermore, improved reliability in machine learning algorithms, information compression and processing, and consideration for the human-machine interface are also necessary.
