About

Before starting my PhD I worked on migration policy research at the Center for Global Development and studied Chinese migration to Zambia on a Fulbright research grant. I graduated from Middlebury College in 2013 with a BA in International Politics and Economics; I'm fluent in Spanish and (diminishingly) proficient in Mandarin Chinese.

Migration has always been my "thing", from leading a community outreach program for migrant dairy workers in Vermont to working in the visa section of the US Consulate Chengdu, China. When I'm not thinking about human mobility I'm probably eating spicy food, wandering around with my very old camera, or snuggling my cat Rhubarb.
