Daniel R. Marlow

I was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 1954. My father was in the Royal Canadian Navy at the time, which meant that we moved around a lot.  Lacking an independent income, I was obliged to follow. Prior to the age of 10, I had lived in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; Toronto, Ontario; and Key West, Florida. My father's last navy appointment took our family to Doylestown, Pennsylvania, where I attended junior high and high school in the Central Bucks School system. In 1972, I moved to Pittsburgh to attend Carnegie Mellon University, where I studied physics at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In 1984 I joined the Princeton faculty as an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department. It has been an honor and a pleasure to have been a member of this great department ever since.
