Dear OpenScholar Site Owners/Editors,
Please be advised that Openscholar will be retiring non-responisve themes on November 16th, 2017 2017 in order to maintain a website system that keeps up with modern standards.
What does this mean for you?
- If you are using a responsive theme (meaning it is optimized for smaller screens, such as tablets and phones), no action is required.
- If you are using a non-responsive theme, there are some options you will want to consider.
How do I know if I have a non-responsive theme?
Go to Admin Bar > Appearance > Themes. If your theme says (Responsive) after the name, you have a responsive theme. If it does not say (Responsive), you should read further.
We recommend switching your theme over to a responsive version before November 16th, 2017. Please note, when changing themes, content on the site can shift or move. It is best to take this time now to test different responsive themes to see which will work best with your site content.
What if you do nothing?
Non-responsive themes will no longer be an option to choose in the Admin Bar under Appearance > Themes after November 16th, 2017. If you are on an non-responsive theme and wish to stay on it after November 16th, you may, but if you to change the theme after that date, you will not be able to revert to any of the non-responsive themes.
