Semih received his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2013, and his B.Sc. in Mathematics (double-major) in 2014, both with highest honor and both from Middle East Technical University. During his undergraduate studies, he spent two summers doing internships at Tubitak Space, a research institute carrying out research and development projects on space technology, electronics, information technology and related fields, and at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), one of the leading universities in Europe. Semih received his M.A. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2016 from Princeton University under the supervision of Prof. Sergio Verdú. Currently, he is working towards the completion of his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. H. Vincent Poor.
His research interests include, but not limited to, lossless data compression, data transmission, statistical modeling, and more recently, differential privacy.
