Kevrekidis to retire and move to Johns Hopkins University

Professor Yannis Kevrekidis will retire from the University effective July 1, 2017, with the titles of Pomeroy and Betty Perry Smith Professor in Engineering, Emeritus, and Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering and Applied and Computational Mathematics, Emeritus. Professor Kevrekidis joined Princeton's chemical engineering faculty in 1986. Research in the Kevrekidis group has focused on the dynamic behavior of chemically reacting systems, and the development of innovative computer-assisted techniques for modeling engineering processes. Kevrekidis named Payatakes Lecturer

Prof. Kevrekidis was selected by the University of Houston Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering faculty as the 2016 Payatakes Memorial Lecturer.  Alkis Payatakes was a former member of the UH faculty who made seminal contributions to transport phenomena and fluid mechanics focus on porous media, colloidal systems, and biological media. The lecture will be given in April 2016.
